When I saw this, I immediately thought of dry, torn skin. I knew that wasn't what was in the image, but that was my association. It holds an intriguing balance of delicacy and rigidity.
i think the interplay of the smooth and the rigid is what drew me in to take the shot in the first place. this was one of those shots i took in the middle of shooting an assignment. i was supposed to be focusing on what i was doing, but it pulled my gaze away and i had to shoot it.
